This painting, a profile of a woman with brown felt hat and blue jacket, is a depiction of a friend of mine, who is "all-natural" in every way. Her freckled face, her diet, the clothes she prefers, and even her home in the Santa Fe National Forest, where she loves to hike and bird-watch. To begin, I treated an illustration board with marble dust in a bright blue acrylic wash.
