Waiting for Wind

In the fall I was in Marmaris Turkey doing Plain Air on the sea wall when a fleet of racing boats left the nearby marina. While the boat crews were ready to race, it was a foggy cool morning without wind, so I had plenty of time to paint them. I especially enjoyed the colour contrast of the maroon main sails against the blue mountains in the morning light.
