Into the Red

My painting depicts the experience of the scenes entering Kentucky's Red River Gorge through the Nada Tunnel. This exact view does not actually exist - but is a creative expression of the views exiting the tunnel into the area (known by locals as 'the Red') artistically interpreted and depicted by me. I referenced many images I lived and captured.This painting is widely recognized by those who have driven through the tunnel and those that live there. Photographers have tried and have been wildly unsuccessful at capturing the angle of my painting - one of the benefits of being an artist.
