Spring at Lexington Cemetery
It is hard not to feel inspired by the elegance of the Spring cherry blossoms at the Lexington Cemetery in Kentucky. I had experienced this natural wonder in years prior, and await their arrival every year since then. I check the location almost daily, analyzing all the elements of Spring - hoping for the opportunity to paint in the narrow window of the peak cherry blossom bloom. They are truly a here today, gone tomorrow natural phenomenon. Capturing the perfect scene is a wonderful, complex and involved process; I think that all of those aspects build up inside - and I let them flow through me and out of each brush stroke as I depict the beauty before me. I look forward to painting cherry blossoms in the years that follow - elements and conditions permitting.
