The Cross-walk
As a track and cross-country athlete, my art is inspired by my sport and the routes I take on my daily runs. This particular drawing considers the process of stopping at crosswalks and intersections during runs. As well as the quiet, meditative, and often isolative nature of being a runner. This particular crosswalk, which I photographed in the early morning, is special to me. It holds fond memories of meet-ups for long runs with teammates, track workouts, and practice. It signifies the beginnings and the ends of my runs.
